Marty Kelman

As founding partner and chairman of Kelman-Lazarov, Inc., Marty brings to his role decades of experience and success in building relationships and helping others build wealth. With a B.A. in history from the University of Virginia and an M.Ed. in counseling and an MBA in finance from the University of Memphis, Marty listens and speaks the languages of emotion and finance with equal fluency.

Marty is a CFP® professional. He’s a past president of the International Association for Financial Planning (Memphis Chapter). As the son of Holocaust survivors, Marty has served for more than 20 years on the international and local boards of Facing History and Ourselves, an initiative that teaches students how to remedy hatred and bigotry. He currently serves on the University of Memphis Alumni Board, and Jewish Community Partners and has served on the Unknown Child Foundation Board and Vitalant Community Leadership Council. Over the years, he has led Ridgeway Country Club, Leadership Memphis and the Epilepsy Foundation, advised the Junior League, and chaired the Shelby County and Memphis Youth Guidance Commission.

He and his late wife, Dale Kelman, have one son. When Marty is not consulting with clients or co-workers or contributing to our community, you will likely find him strength training, playing golf or hiking a scenic trail.
